AI computing power is booming, pushing data centers to upgrade network performance and energy efficiency. Traditional optical and electrical interconnections suffer from high power consumption, significant latency and poor bandwidth scalability, unable to support AI training and large-scale cloud computing. To address these challenges, the industry is advancing Co-packaged Optics (CPO) and Near-packaged Optics (NPO). By integrating optical engines with switching and computing chips, these technologies shorten signal paths to reduce power consumption and latency while boosting bandwidth density. However, traditional MPO connectors are limited in size and fiber density, with port capacity nearly maxed out and hindering CPO/NPO deployment.
